Playable - Game play involves two teams alternating turns in their quest to cover 5 game board
spaces in a row. To cover a space you must correctly answer a question card. The game
becomes a lively contest of strategies and topic knowledge in each team's quest to cover 5 spaces in a row.
During game play your participants are discussing your topic, increasing their learning and retention
of the topic, as well as engaging in real-time, observable behavior that has produced positive post-game debriefing sessions.
Adaptable - This board game can be adapted to any material that can be developed into
short-answer or multiple-choice questions of 25 words or less.
Topics adapted by clients include: time management, sales management, customer relations, stress management, safety
awareness, new employee orientation, bank and credit products, air safety, product knowledge, CPR
and EMT training, leadership, creativity, coaching, and hazardous material.
Preparation - The instructor should develop 32 to 40 short answer questions on the topic that must
be transferred onto question cards, one set of question cards per game board. We recommend at
least 32 question cards — positioned 8 questions to a sheet, four sheets, and cut into 32 cards —
which can be accomplished through several word processing programs. Facilitator
presents one question at a time through overhead presentations
—especially effective with PowerPoint. This eliminates card
production and keeps the same question in front of the entire
audience, allowing the facilitator to present and elaborate on
the correct response as needed.
